ABOUT
Laura Nevill is a London based contemporary artist working across various mediums to create bold designs with beautiful symbolism and elegant silhouettes. Drawing inspiration from traditional tattoos, celestial beauty and all things magical she creates pieces which celebrate the imperfectly perfect and embrace all things handmade.
She has exhibited at the London Illustration Fair as well as creating work for brand such as Vans, Adidas and Creative Debuts. In 2021 Laura was featured in The Evening Standard after starting a movement on Instagram called #LetsDoLondonBetter after encouraging creatives throughout the city to mock-up and share their inspiring, positive and inclusive artworks in public spaces. Laura proceeded to work with Westfield London to curate a group of 30 artists to showcase their work across the shopping centres digital screens. Laura continues to advocate for more opportunities for emerging artists filling public spaces with art.
Laura says ‘I have always felt that the things that you surround yourself with tell a story and I love making pieces that become a part of yours. My recent work stems from struggling with anxiety and depression and features little reminders that it is okay to struggle, getting such a positive response from people who felt comforted by these messages ultimately helped me through such a tough time and I hope my work continues to offer comfort to those struggling.’
